It is clear that the percentage of people in United State was by far the highest over period shown. Despite the fact that forest coverage percentages in all four countries were continuously decline for most of time, they show a rising trend in the last 100 years.
During 1600 to 1850, the population of four countries continuously declined follow the same trend of the percentage of land that was covered by forest, the percentage of people in United States decreased from almost 50% to 35%; Other countries, including England, Scotland, and the France all below 15%.
In 1900, the percentage of people and forest coverage percentage in the four countries increased gradually, except in France, with a significant increase in population and forest coverage percentage from below 15% to 30%, becoming the second highest. The figures for Scotland overtook the those for England at this period and shown an obvious distance from England in 2000.
