The chart depicts the rate of poverty and people live in United States during the year 2008. The people are classified in terms of men and women in addition to their age.

Overall, the poverty rate of men and women ranges from 5 percentage to 25 percentage. Relatively the older people above the age of 24 had less rate of poverty compared to those who were below.

Men, below 5 years old had a poverty rate of above 20% . Then there is stable decrease of poverty rate among men between the age of 5-17 to 45-54.While there is a little fluctuation of poverty rate between men aged from 55 to 65.Finally above 75 years old men had very less poverty rate of just above 5%

Women, under age 5 have a poverty rate of just above 20 percent ,slightly more than men .Women aged from 5-17 had a reduced poverty rate of approximately 15 percent and had a steep increase going back to just above 20 percent between the age of 18-24. Then the rate of poverty among women had a steady decrease till the age of 54 and had a slight change in terms of rate after that. Women who aged above 75 years old had a poverty rate of less than 15%.
