It is apparent that the use of renewable energy in Iceland and Turkey was higher than their counterparts. Additionally, the year 2010 saw the largest distribution of such energy resource in Iceland and Sweden, while a reverse pattern was true for Australia and Turkey.
In Australia, the peak of renewable energy use was recorded in 1997, at 9%, which then declined to 5% 3 years later before hitting its bottom at 3% in 2010. In terms of Sweden, there was an upward trend in the proportion of renewable energy, starting from 4% in 1997 and ending up at merely 10% in the last researched year.
Turning to Turkey, this country utilized about 37% of the total energy supply as renewable energy in 1997. After 3 years, the use of this energy reached its highest point at 45% and eventually witnessed a decrease to 33% in 2010. In addition, Icelands’ rates of renewable energy were significantly more dominant than the others as their figure rose from 45% to 60% and 70% over the examined periods.
