The bar graph illustrates the distances traveled by people in the UK using different means of transportation in a span of a decade from 1990 to 2000.
Overall, the total distance traveled by all modes of transport increased, while the one for bicycles and motorbikes decreased. Noticeably, the figures for bus and rail are dominant over the others.
In 1990, the travel distance by bus was the highest, 40 kilometers, whereas that by rail was lower, a few kilometers away. In the next 10 years, the figure for bus and rail rose, fluctuating in the range of 38-41 kilometers.
The number of kilometers traveled by bicycle, motorbike, and air, were incredibly low in 1990, with air accounted for the lowest in 1990 as well as bicycle in 2000. In a decade, the figure for bicycle and motorbike dropped about a half, 2 and 3 kilometers respectively. In contrast, the data for air saw a significant increase, 5 kilometers in 2000. Finally, the total passenger kilometers increased from 100 km to around 110 km in 2000.
