However, between 1999 and 2002, the number of minutes spent on the same category dropped from 90 billion to 75 billion in the same region. On the other hand, minutes spent on national and international fixed-line calls were approximately 37 billion in 1995. This figure rose to 50 billion minutes in 1999 and reached its peak at above 60 billion in the final year.
For the remaining category, minutes spent on mobile (all calls) in the UK increased significantly from about 2 billion in 1995 to 45 billion in 2002.
