The line graph illustrates the statistical data about unemployment rate in Rural and Urban areas in Australia in 2012. The data is measured in percentage in all four quarters of the year.

Overall, It can be seen that unemployment rate in Rural areas saw decline, whereas Urban areas saw a considerable raise throughout the period.

To begin with Urban areas, the percentage of unemployment surged substantially from around 2.2% in first quarter to 4% in second quarter of the year, before falling back to 2.2% in third quarter. After which, the perecentage fluctuated around mid of third and fourth quarter, before rising substantially to stand at around 4.8% by the end of 2012.

In contrast, the initial rate of unemployment dropped in Rural areas enormously from 6.6% to 4.6% by second quarter. After that, the percentage fluctuated between 4.5% and 5% before stabilising at 5% in the end of 2012.
