Overall, it is readily apparent that percentage in both areas fluctuated significantly; nevertheless, the unemployment rate in rural areas was higher than that of urban areas throughout the whole year.

Beginning with first quarter of 2012, the rate of unemployed people in rural regions declined steadily from around 6.5% to 4.5% in the second quarter, which was it lowest point. In contrast, the percentage in urbanized areas continued to rose, nearly doubling its proportion from almost 2% to 4% in the 2nd quarter of 2012.

The proportion of unemployment in urban regions witnessed its largest decline, reaching nearly 2% in the third quarter while the percentage in the rural areas slightly went up to over 5% during the same quarter, and hovered around that number for the rest of the period, ending at exactly 5% in the end of 2012. By comparison, the rate in urban region continued to grow with minor fluctuations, reaching nearly under 5% at the end of the year.
