The Bar charts illustrate the record of USA marriage and divorce ratio since 1970 to 2000, and the marital status of American citizens in two years 1970 and 2000.
Overall, in first chart marriages were generally high rate. In contrast, the divorces were played lowest role in all three decades from 1970 to 2000. In the other hand, in marital status married people has been seen with upward percentage in 1970 and in 2000 divorced was downward.
In explanation, the marriages was trended from 1970 to 80 with same number 2.5 million then it fell gradually in 1990 with recorded number of almost 2.3M and after a decade in 2000 it was exacted on 2M. However, the divorced rate was same in both years 1970 and 2000 with 1M only, it showed a bit rise in 1990 almost 1.1M. But, it was highest from all three in 1980 with proportion of 1.4M.
Turn to other side, in 1970 the married rate was highest with 70% as compared to all three statuses never married, widowed and divorced with minimal 15%, 9% and 1% respectively. Furthermore, in 2000 the married again stood at peak but with 60% and other three were on bottom with 20%, 8% and 9% respectively.
