The chart illustrates world market allocation of three various computer operating systems over 4-years period spanning 2012 to 2015.
Overall it is clear that, there were upward and downward trends in all sessions. However, OS 1 dominated the chart whereas OS 3 illustrated lowest figure in all years. Additionally, OS 2 remained relatively stable over the years, while others showed different figures in each year.
Focusing on OS 1 and Others, in 2012 other allocated highest market share accounting 48% while OS 1 was least shared with 20%. This was distantly followed by dramatic increase to 35% and 38% in 2013 respectively. Starting at around 23% and 47% 2014, the figures that then decreased and increased accounting 15% others and 52% OS1 in 2015.
Turning to the OS 3 and 2, in 2012 OS 3 had the lowest global market share accounting 15%. Despite a decrease to 10% in 2013, the global market share of OS 3 grow up to 12% in 2014. This was closely followed by noticeable increase to 15% in 2015. Additionally, OS 2 remained relatively stable in all years accounting 18%.
