The chart show the information about Australian dollars in Australia’s trade in three nations: China, India and USA from 2004 to 2009.
Overall, while trade between Australia and China and India increased, the US data remained relatively stable in the period.
In terms of trade between Australia and China, the export value began at 20 billion Australian dollars, then gradually increased to 30 billion Australian dollars in 2007 before leveling off at this level a bit at the end of the time frame. Meanwhile, the import value followed the same trend, starting just over 10 billion Australian dollars in the first year, surpassing the export value in 2008 and ending the period at 40 billion Australian dollars.
Regarding India, Australia’s import value rose gradually from around 25 billion in 2004 to about 33 billion in 2009. Exports, however, remained relatively flat, fluctuating slightly but staying below 20 billion throughout the period. This indicates a growing trade deficit with India.
Finally, the statistics on trade between Australia and the United States are almost unchanged throughout the period, with the value of exports and imports fluctuating around 11 billion Australian dollars and 30 billion Australian dollars.
