In contrast, New Zealand had nearly equal proportions of water used for agriculture and industry, at 44% and 46% respectively. Canada, on the other hand, had the highest industrial water usage at 80%, with agriculture accounting for only 12%.
Overall, agriculture was the dominant sector for water use globally, but there were significant variations among countries. Industrial water usage was higher in developed countries like Canada and New Zealand, while domestic water use remained the lowest globally.
