Overall, it can be seen that majority of water in the world was used in agriculture, China and India’s example perfectly justifies it.

To begin with, 70% of world water usage fell on agriculture, while Industrial and Domestic needs formed other 30 percent, 22% and 8% respectively. When it comes to the specification in terms of countries, China almost perfectly followed world trends spending 69% of water on agriculture, 9% on domestics and the same 22% on industry, whereas Canada did completely the opposite, with waste majority of water went on Industry (80 percent), and domestic and Agricultural needs formed other 20%, 12 and 8 percent respectively.

Furthermore, India spent on agriculture over double the percentage New Zealand spent, 92 and 44 percent respectively. Majority of water usage in New Zealand, in its turn, fell on Domestics (46 percent) and other 10 percent were covered by industrial costs. In that same time, India spent only 5% on domestics and 3% on industry.
