The charts below show information about honey-bee colonies and honey production in the US.
The charts give information about honey-bee colonies and the production of honey in the USA. I will examine the charts in this report.
Firstly, The first chart illustrates the honey-bee colonies in the USA from 1970-2010. In 1970, numbers of honey-bee colonies was 4 million. Honey-bee colonies increased slightly from 4 million to 4.2 million. Bee population decreased moderately by 0.8 million in 1990. Then the number of bees went down to 2.6 million in 2000. After that the numbers of bee colonies fell moderately from 2.6 million to 1.8 million in 2010.
In addition, the second chart gives information about honey production between 1970-2010 in the United States. In 1970, honey production was 130.000 tons in the USA. The following bar shows 1980. In this year the production of honey went down moderately by 20.000 tons. After that the honey production increased a small amount from 110.000 to 120.000 in 1990. In 2000, the honey production fell moderately by 20.000. Lastly, the production of honey, went down sharply to 70.000 in 2010.
Overall, In 1980 the number of colonies increased. In contrast, the honey production decreased in 1980. This information shows opposite trend. However the others years have same trends. The most significant information is the fall in honey production per bee colony.
