The represented diagram illustrates the major differences in the amount of time spent on housework through the course of time.
In general, the percentage of households with electrical appliances have been increasingly growing since 1920, and as a desirable consequence the amount of housework time has simultaneously, considerably and sustainably decreased.
According to the first chart, some sorts of housework that human did, have been completely replaced by electrical appliances. For example, it can be clearly observed that in 1920 the use of refrigerator was insignificant, the percentage of housework done with the help of vacuum cleaner was only 30%. In 2019 the refrigerator with vacuum cleaner have become available and assessable, and presently these devices do all the work automatically. It would be useful to notice the fact that the use of washing machine hasn’t comparatively increased, maybe because of the inefficiency.
It can be noticed, that the second graph definitely confirms all data mentioned in the first one. The amount of time spent on households has gradually decreased. In the year 1920 people spent aproximatelly 50 hours a week to clean their dwellings. Nowadays the population have to spent about 10 hours on this duty.
