Overall, more people used to have domestic appliances with the passage of time, and number of physical working hours decreased in an inverse proportionate to domestic devices.
Regarding ownership, 40 %of houses had facility of washing machines which gradually increased to 70% until 1960. Then, it slightly fluctuated in 1980 but reached to the same level of 1960 until 2000, and finally reached its peak at more than 70% in 2019, which means that every two out of three houses had washing machines at the end of the period. Notably, no household owned a vacuum cleaner in 1920, which had substantial growth and peaked at 100% in 1980 and remained stable at this level until 2019. Refrigerators started at 30% in 1920, and gradually reached at 100% until 2000.
Number of working hours in a week reduced from 50 to 10 with introduction of appliances in the given time period.
