The given line graph illustrates the percentage of households owning electrical appliances through the year 1920 to 2019 and the hours spent per week doing household chores in a nation during the same period.
Overall, we can observe that the household appliances considered in the first graph are washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner. The usage of these machineries has increased excessively over the course of 99 years. People owning washing machines were nil in 1920 however the percentage increased to 100% by 2019. Moreover, citizens using refrigerator and vacuum cleaner in 1920 were about 30% and 40% respectively. Similar to the washing machine, the percentage of refrigerator and vacuum cleaner increased to 72% and 100% respectively.
On the other hand, if we look at the second graph, the hours dedicated for housework per week have decreased over the period of 99 years. In 1920, people were utilizing 50% of their time in washing clothes, preparing meals and cleaning per week. However, the hours decreased drastically falling to 10% by 2019.
