The table illustrates the amount of time that males females devoted to engaging in distinct recreational activities namely TV, radio,video, books and sport exercises in 2008 . The bar chart depicts various differences in the time among men and women allocated to housework activities on a daily basis .
It is clear that both men and women tended to spend most of their time watching TV, videos and listening to the radio. Additionally, females had a keen interest in all housework activities rather than males, except repairing.
Regarding the bar table, the data for the time allocated to TV, radios and videos of men took the lead at 137 minutes, followed by women at 118 minutes. At the same time, 18 minutes was recorded in reading books of males, compared to males at 19 minutes. In terms of working out by sports, the figure for men was 15 minutes, which was slightly higher than that of women at 11 minutes.
Looking at the bar chart in more detail, the data for time of men cooking and washing was about 30 minutes, noticeably outnumbering women at above 75 minutes respectively. What is more, the amount of time females and males allocated to shopping were approximately 25 minutes and 35 minutes respectively. As for the time of repair, the data for men considerably exceeded women with the former at nearly 20 minutes and the latter at below 20 minutes. Finally, with regard to clothing washing and ironing, the time devoted by males was lower threefold than females, with the respective figures being roughly 10 minutes and around 30 minutes .
