The pie chart illustrates the distribution of scores among Vietnamese candidates in IELTS exam from 2023 to 2024, while the bar chart compares the Vietnamese participants’ avarage scores of four skills to global figure.
Overall, it is clear that band 6.0 was the most popular compared to others, and the opposite was true for band 8.5 and over. Moreover, it is observed that Listening and Reading was the best performed skills.
Looking at the pie chart, candidates who achieved band 6.0 ranked first, at 21%, higher 3% than the share of people with band 6.5 and band 5.5, which were the second leaders. It is also witnessed that only 13%, 10% and 9% of test takers acquiring band 7.0, band 5.0 and band 7.5, respectively. There was also a similar pattern between band 8.0 and over’s figures and band 4.5 and under’s ones, which both groups ranging of around 4% and 1%.
In terms of bar chart, it is acknowledged that the average Listening score of international candidates was 6.6, outnumbering that of Vietnamese counterparts, with only 6.3. The same pattern was also observed in Speaking’s average scores, with the former being 6.3 and the latter being 6.0. In contrast, the average of IELTS band scores in Reading and Writing skills of both groups was identical, at 6.4 and 5.7, respectively.
