overall, while the percentage of students studying to pursue a career declined throught the age bands, the percentage studying for personal interest increased. The two young age group receive more employer support than the other older age groups.
Most people in three youngest age brackets study for career, although the number fall from roughly 80% of under 26s to 55% of 30-39 year olds. The decrease continue and only around 20% of over 49s study for career purposes. Only 10% of students in youngest age bracket study because of personal interest. However, the percentage climb steadily with increasing age and reach the same level as the percentage studying for a career in the 40-49 age group, at 40%. Growth continue and peak in the oldest age group, with 70% of students in this group studying for interest.
64% o fstudents under 26 and 50% of thosse aged 26-29 received support from their emplyers. However,support dropp to the lowesr level in the 30-39 age bracket, at 30%. Above that , support grow only slighly to 40% for those over 49.
