Generally speaking, it is clear from the bar chart that the overall tourism rates experienced significant growth during the observed period. Furthermore, the procentage of Japanese people going to Australia also showed a substantial increase.
More specifically, the amount of Japan’s citzens travelling abroad grew consistently throught the years, with an exeption of a slight decrease between 1990 and 1991. Overall, this number went up from 5 to over 15 million people.
Likewise, the line graph suggests that Australia’s share of Japanese tourists, starting at 2 million, rose by almost 3 million visitors in the first 3 years before falling to slightly above 4 million by 1989 and going up to 6 million by 1994, which is over 3 times larger than the starting figure.
