The charts below depict the number of cities’ and rural areas’ residents affected by four types of noises, namlely traffic, train, aircraft and industry, in 2007.
Overall, traffic noise had the most profound impact on the residential areas in both regions; while the noise from industry affected very little or almost none individuals. As it is obseved, the figures in metropolitans were relatively higher than the ones in rural parts in all sections.
Turning to traffic, by 2007, the figures of individuals affected in both times in the cities, which were 64 millions and 34 millions, had doubled the datas in the other areas. In terms of train, specifically in cities, irratated persons in the night time, which were 8 millions, were 2-million fewer than the day with 10 million people.
Regarding the remaining factors, the number of affected individuals in the day of city was 4 millions, surprassing the data in rural areas by 2 millions; whilst the figures of the day time were equal. Besides, the industry noise caused irratation to 1 million cities residents in the day and and 250 thousand ones in the evening. In contrast, none of the people in the other regions was annoyed by the noise in both day and night.
