Overall, while the number of affected citizens remained highest for traffic throughout the day, the industry sectors is shown to least influence the residents. Additionally, there is a significant reduction in night time compared to during the day.
To begin with, traffic affected the highest number of people. It recorded at around 68 and 35 millions of people during day time in cities and countryside, respectively. Moreover, the effects of traffic are mitigated at night, showing considerable decline in the number of people being impacted by noise. Similarly, train witnessed a slight decrease rate of about 2 millions people during nighttime and had lower figures in comparison to traffic, with no more than 10 millions people.
In contrast, aircraft and industry sectors are found to have a relatively small impact on residents. The figures for aircrafts in cities and rural areas during the day is 4 and 2 millions people, respectively; while the numbers are the same at 1 millions people at night. Furthermore, it is evident that industry had the lowest number of affected people, with the figures only being no more than 1 million people.
