The bar chart illustrates how many people visited Australia from three countries (the UK, the US and Japan) between 1995 and 2005, and the line graph gives informations about the ways of travels (staying at resorts and backpacking) in a decade.
Overall, tourists from Japan travelled to Australia the most back in the day, while people in the UK and America visited the country at the same rate in the later year. It can be seen that the tourists from all kinds of countries prefer to travel with a backack, rather than stayed at the resorts.
Looking at the bar chart first, it is clear that Australia is most favoured by Japan’s tourists in 1995, reaching one million and five thousand visiters. Compared with the other two countries, the numbers of Japan tourists is doubled the amount of the UK visiters, and even tripled the number of the US travellers, which had around seven hundred thousand tourists and five hundred thousand travellers respectively. However, the roles are reversed as it reached the year of 2005. The numbers of the British and the Amercian travelled to Australia had increased signifcantly as both countries marked at one million and five thousand tourists, meeting the same peak amout of Japan back in 1995. Conversely, the amout of Japan visitors had slumped and fell to only one million of travellers.
The line graph gives more information about how tourists travelled in the period of ten years. Over the years, it can be seen that backpacking was a more popular trend instead of staying at a resort, one million and five thousand of people choose this type of travel in 1995, then it rose to a great extend, almost reaching the peak at just below two million and five hundred thousand by 2000. On the other side, less people chose to stay at the resort( around four hundred thousand), and the trend had a less dramatic increase than the backpacking travels, as it only had around eight hundred thousand travelers who chose this way in 2000. However, after a decade, people who chose backpacking travels drop noticably and coverged with the number of the resort stayers, and two trends jointed at the meeting point just above one million of visitors in 2005.
