The bar charts present data on the quantities of goods and food that citizens in three European countries bought in supermarkets in 1998 and 2008. Overall, the year 2008 witnessed the remarkable growth in the figure for products bought and the shopping trends from prefering food to buying more goods.
In country 1, the residents bought just 10% of food and under 5% of goods in supermarkets in 1998, which were slightly higher than the amount of products bought in country 3. However, after 10 years, the proportion of food in country 1 recorded the considerable rise by 25%, similar with that of goods soaring to eighth time more than it was in 1998. Additionally, the country 3 saw the same trends, althought there was a pronounced disparity in the percentage of goods bought between two years, while the figure for food was sold by supermarkets just slightly increased.
In country 2, the proportions of both food and goods bought in supermarket were at about 23% in 1998, before slowly climbing to 27% in 2008. This country had seen the most stability in shopping trends among three countries.
