The bar chart illustrates that the proportion of household income spent on several categories between 2000 and 2020. Overall, people spent their money on seven different categories. Clearly, the percentage of household income spent was at highest level for housing expenses and lowest level for entertainment in 2000 and 2020.
In 2000, Housing expenses were followed by food expenses at 20%. Meanwhile, transport , utilities and health had 10%. While the money that flowed into entertainment outlays were at 5%, the other expenses had 20% in 2000.
The percentage of income spent on housing, transport and entertainment surged to 30%, 15% and 5% respectively while utilities and health/insurance stayed at 10%. In contrast, the proportion of income spent on food and other categories decreased to 15% and 10% respectively.
In summary, there was not dramatic increasement or decreasement between 2000 and 2020. The graph had just some fluctuation between 2000 and 2020.
