The pie charts compare the proportion of students at an educational center for adults joining different courses offered in 1985 and this year. Overall, it is obvious that the figure for students who took part in modern languages (French, German, Spanish) courses was by far the highest for students taking various courses in 1985, whereas that for individuals who participate in IT courses is the single highest for students taking various courses this year.
As can be seen from the first pie chart, it is noticeable that the percentages of students joining cookery and local history courses were approximately equal, at 14% and 15%. In addition, the proportion of students taking modern languages (French, German, Spanish) courses, at 24%, was three times that of students taking music appreciation courses, at 8%. Meanwhile, as regards the figure for students taking various courses in 1985, art courses were placed third, at 17%, and fitness and dance courses were ranked second, at 22%.
Looking at the second pie chart, the proportion of students participating in cookery courses has risen to 19% this year. By contrast, there have been decreases of 2% and 7% from 17% in 1985 to 15% this year in the percentage of students taking art courses and from 24% to 17% in the figure for modern languages (French, German, Spanish) courses.
