The two pie charts illustrate the level of engagements among individuals in several courses at an adult education center in 1985 and current period.
Overall, music appreciation and local history are no longer available, IT has emerged as the most prevalent course. While cookery category has been participated more by students, modern languages and art have shown a reverse trend, and fitness and dance education witnessed no change.
In 1985, modern language courses, including French, German and Spanish, were attended by 24% of students, which was relatively higher than that for fitness and dance, reaching 22%. Following this category were art, local history and cookery, being engaged by 17%, 15% and 14% of total individuals, respectively. In contrast, the share of participants in music appreciation was merely 8%, making it the least attractive educational course.
In terms of current year, the appearance of new IT education has attracted 27% of individuals to pursue, leading its domination. Modern language courses seem to receive lower attention, with only 17% of individuals participating in this field. Similarly, the proportion of art sector’s students has decreased from 17% to 15% over the years. Notably, the figures for fitness and dance courses have remained stable at 22%, while that for cookery courses increased to 19%.
