In general, there was an upward trend in the percentage of people volunteering for the environment, healthcare services and sports activities. whereas art, education, and others is undoubtedly the smallest. Over and above that health care was the least popular throughout 2 years.
In 2008, while environmental and educational were two sectors that attracted most volunteers, in turn, 21% and 24%, the proportion of participants doing voluntary work in health care, the least common, only accounted for 7%. Time spent on sport and other purpose share the same amount, which was 15%
After 6 years, there were several changes took place. As can be seen clearly from the graph, the percentage of contributors in environmental purpose made it leading position, with 29%, beaten 17% volunteers in educational. Likewise, the figure for people working in art and other volunteering activities witnessed a fall of 6%. In contrast, sport attracted more attention from volunteers with 25%. Activities in the healthcare field, despite a slight rise of 1% in its figure, remained the least preferred option compared to other groups.
