The charts shows how the proportion of water used by different sectors in Sydney, Australia changed from 1997 to 2007
Overall, the figure for water consumption at food, building industries and manufacturing industries decreased noticeably, while the percentage of water usage in Household use and services saw a significant increase. Moreover, the percentage of water used at food industries constituted the biggest proportion even though it decreased over the period.
Turning to the details, the usage of water in food industries decreased significantly from 48% to 41% in 2007. The opposite was for service industry doubled from 13% to 25% over the period. The percentage of water use at building industries stood at 5% in the beginning,before dropping to 2% by the last year.
As for usage water at manufacturing saw a slight decrease from 15% to 11% in 2007. While the figure for water use at household rose minimally from 19% to 21% over the period.
