The bar charts provide information about a bus company’s punctuality performance by comparing the actual and target percentage of services arriving on time and the number of passenger’s complaints between 1999 and 2003. Overall, the number of complaints is not directly proportional with the bus punctuality.
The bus punctuality target decreased every two years while the actual performance witnessed fluctuation. At the beginning of period, the company’s punctuality target was 86% and became about 84.5% at the end of the period. The highest actual percentage of bus services arriving on time was 85% in 1999. The company never achieve its target except in 2003 when the target was the lowest. The gap between achievement and the target was in range between approximately 0.25% to 1% except in 2000 when the gap was 4% making the biggest difference with the target by 4%.
The number of complaints per thousand passenger’s journeys is not directly correlated with the bus punctuality performance. In 2000, the bus company had the lowest percentage of arriving on time with 82% meanwhile the highest number of complaints was in 2003. The complaints number increased every year except in 2001.
