The bar charts illustrate the proportion of expenditure on roads and transportation between 1990 and 2005. Overall, Portugal was the most spending country during the period, while UK was the least investment. It is also clear that Portugal decreased throughout the period, and the UK did not experience any overall rise and instead showed fluctuations.
In 1990, Portugal and Italy were at about 26% and 22% respectively, while in 1995 both went down at about 2%. After 5 years, Italia rised from 20% to about 24%, whereas Portugal declined from about 26% to 22%. In contrast, at the end of the period, Italia as well as Portugal experienced decline to about 5% for the former and around 2% for the latter.
Turning to the Uk and the USA, the USA and the UK were the lowest percentage throughout the period at about 11% and 10% respectively in 1990. Although in 1995, the USA fell down to 10%, and the UK decreased to about 9%. By 2000, both increased at about 4%, while in 2005, the USA experienced rise at 15%, hovewer, the UK saw a considerable decrease to about 5%.
