Overall, it is evident that teaching and research remained the dominant category, despite a slight decline. By contrast, while financial support for students was the smallest segment in 2015, spending on libraries is projected to become the least significant by 2035.
Library expenditure accounted for 10% in 2015, before being projected to halve by 2035.
Likewise, accomodation spending represented 16% initially, and by 2035 the proportion is expected to decrease to 8%. As for maintaining campuses, this share remains stable at 10% throughout the period.
The proportion spent on administration and management was 6% and is projected to increase significantly to 16% over the period, whereas financial support for students is expected to rise slightly, by 3% to reach 8% by 2035. In comparison, spendings on teaching and research is anticipated to decline from 53% in 2015 to 48% in 2035.
