The charts compare how a university distributed its income among different sections in two years, 2005 and 2015.
Overall, it is clear that Teaching and Research consistently accounted for the highest proportion in both years, despite a slight drop. In contrast, Administration and Management increased significantly, while the opposite was true in the case of Accommodation, Libraries and Financial support for students.
In 2005, more than half of the university income 53% was spent for teaching and research. After that, accommodation had ranked second, at 16%, closely followed by campus maintenance and libraries, both the same at 10%. Administration and management made up a small share with 6%, and financial support for students was the least funded section at 5%.
After a decade, although teaching and research experienced a drop, it still contributed to the largest spend, at 48%. Administration and management saw a notable increase to 16%, showing the previous figure for accommodation, which subsequently decreased to 8%. The library funding was reduced to 5%, while maintenance expenses remained stable. Lastly, student financial support increased moderately to 8%.
