The chart illustrates the percentage of an individual’s expenses on different commodities and services in a certain European country in 1998 and 2008.
Overall, it is clear that most people spend their money on electronic goods in both years, while the least money was spent on going to the cinema and on buying newspapers. Another interesting point is that the proportion of people’s spending on eating out was the same in both years.
Turning to the expenses in 1998, buying electronic goods was at the first place at 16%. Following this, expenditure on clothing is 12%. Eating out was quite more famous than going on holidays 6% and 8% with respect. Spending money on newspapers was quite unpopular thus, 3% of people choose this category similarly, to going to the cinema which is 3% of people’s choice too.
With respect to the total spending in 2008, consumption of electronic goods was in the first place with 20%. 18% of people choose to spend their money on clothing.
