The pie charts depict the percentage of the energy generated from various sources in a nation in 1985 and 2003.
Overall, Oil was the biggest source of energy production in both years. The demand for oil and nuclear dropped over time, whereas it rose for natural gas, coal, and other renewable sectors as a source of energy. It is evident that Hydrogen remained unchanged.
In 1985, oil was the primary source of energy, accounting for 52% of total energy. Although this proportion significantly declined to 39% in 2003, it remained the largest contributor. In addition, the nuclear segment decreased from 22% in 1985 to 17% in 2003, becoming the third biggest sector, while the demand for Hydrogen never changed.
Conversely, natural gas, coal, and other renewable sources demand were grown, with an increase of 10%, 7%, and 3%, respectively from 1985 to 2003. Moreover, natural gas took the second position as a source of energy production in 2003, whilst other renewable sources contributed an equal proportion as Hydrogen did.
