The pie charts illustrate the different types of languages that are spoken by British students at one university in England in the years 2000 and 2010. Overall, it can be clearly seen that speaking Spanish was the dominant language in both years, while the proportions of British students who could not speak other language decreased at the end of the period.
To begin with, in 2000, speaking Spanish was very popular language among British students, with a high rate of 30%. Also, speaking French and another language accounted for 15%. The proportions of British people who can speak only German and two other languages stood at 10%. British students who were not able to speak other language rate was relatively increase at 20%.
On the other hand, British student’s attendance to speak Spanish slightly increased in 2010, at 35%, which remained preferable language among British students. Another language rate climbed to one-fifth. Speaking German remained at the same level. No other language section dropped to 10% in 2010, which was a huge decline.
