Regarding the average protein intake, North America records the highest figure with 62 units of animal protein and 18 units of other protein. Meanwhile, India and East Africa have similar figures in other protein levels (15 units), and 13 units-16 units of animal protein intake respectively. Compared with those figures of India and East Africa, Latin America’s consumption of protein in total is significantly higher with 32 animal units, and 13 other units.
On the topic of the levels of calorie intake, this figure in North America surpasses the ideal point while four other countries do not (3500 calories). India ranks the lowest with only 2000 calories consumed in total. The second and third positions belong to East Africa and Latin America respectively with nearly 2500 and 3000 calories intake.
