The pie charts illustrate the percentages among Australian high school graduates who were employed, unemployed and attended further education during 1980,1990 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the proportion of graduates who went for further education decreased gradually throughout the period , while the percentages of employed high school graduates was experienced noticeable increase over the given period. However, unemployed graduates remained the least proportions all over the period.
In 1980, 50% of school graduates were seeking further education, followed by employed post secondary school students with 40% only of the total graduates. Nevertheless, a fewer of them were unemployed at 10% only .
in 1990, almost halve of secondary schools graduates were employed, whereas 38% of them seek additional education. 17% only accounted for jobless graduates.
Finally. in 2000 the percentages of employed graduates was 55% of total students. while, 37% prefer to do further study, and the unemployment rate among those teenagers dropped significantly at 8% only of total graduates.
