The pie charts demonstrate the proportion of forest in five distinct areas in the world and the share of wood in each region in a specific year.
From an overall perspective, the highest rate of forest was seen in Africa, while the lowest was seen in Asia. On the other hand, the share for timber in Africa stood at the bottom of the chart.
Examining the first graph in detail, the percentage of world forest in Africa topped the chart and occupied 27%, which was slightly higher than thast in North America(25%). On the contrary, the figure for South America was lower than Europe by 2% with the respective figures being 16% and 18%, compared to 14% in Asia.
The second graphic illustrates clearly the data for timber in North America experienced the highest figure with 30%, followed by 23% South America. Conversly, 20% of timber was seen in Europe, which surpassed its counterpart in Asia with 18%, as opposed to only 9% in Africa.
