The three line graphs show the value of Australia’s trade with China, Japan and the United States between 2004 and 2009.
Overall, the two figures for trade value of Australia with China saw an upward trend over the period, while there are no significant changes recorded in Australia’s trade value with the United States. In addition, the figure for the revenue of Australia’s trade with Japan showed noticeable fluctuations rather than a clear trend.
In the first years, 20 billion dollars was the amount of value that Australia received when importing with China, the figure then increased gradually to about 30 billion dollars in 2008 before being overtaken by export revenue in the between 2008 and 2009. Starting at above 10 million dollars in 2004, lower than the import profit. The figure for export revenue when Australia traded with China then experienced a significant increase to over 30 million dollars in the final year.
Regarding Australia’s trade with Japan, although both figures had a similar starting point, each of them showed differences in trend. While the figure for export value underwent a fluctuation ranging from 20 to 40 million dollars, the import profit was still relatively unchanged during the period.
Turning to the revenue of Australia trading with the United States, which stood at slightly over 20 million dollars, the figure for import value stayed almost constant over the given time frame. Considering the exports revenue, in 2004, the figure recorded about 10 million dollars before experiencing a fluctuation with several rises and falls over the period.
