As far as travels concerned, in 1980 there was a minimum gap between numbers, tourists who came to France was at 10 million, while those who travveled from France was slightly higher at approximately 11 million. Subsequently, while french people traveling to other countires increased during the 5 year period, number of foreign tourist remained stable ranging from 10 million to 11 million in 1985. In 1990, sudden groth happened in the numbers of french tourists and continued to grow consistently, until peaking at 52 million in 2000. From 1985 to 2000 the increase occurred in the numbers of foreign tourists, however compared to french tourist it was significantly lower, growing approximately 18 milion within a 15 year period.
When it comes to most visited countries by french citizens, least amount of trips was made to Morocco and Holland both ranging from 2 to 4 million. Tourists showed more preference towards Canada, making it more than Morocco and Holland. For the remaining countires, almost 12 million people traveled to Germany from France making it most favorite among french tourists, follewed by Portugal the numbers of tourist being roughtly above 8 million.
