Overall, the proportion of students who are unemployed and further education fall every decade, while the employed students rapidly grow.
In terms of employed students, the figure started at two-fifths in 1980 and increased to half in 1990. In the end of 2000, this proportion grew sharply to 55% and it is the highest percentage during the period.
There was a slight decrease in the percentage of further education, about 50% in 1980 to 37% in 2000. Same as, the unemployed declined from 10% in 1980 to 8% in 2000.
