The chart illustrates data about the students’ transportation methods to the university in 2004 and 2009.
In general, it can be seen that half of the students used their own private vehicles in 2004, which points out the fact that the transport system was not that convenient to use. However, after five years, nearly half of the students chose local transport links, especially bus, rather than cars.
In 2004, half of the students went to university in their cars, whereas one third of them took bus to university. Their third option was using bicycles, which was accounted for just below 10%. Another striking point is that only 3% of students used trains when compared to bus(51%). The remaining 4% of students went to university on foot.
In 2009, the transport system has witnessed a considerable improvement. That’s why, 46% of students became bus users and 4% for trains. Likewise, there was a rapid increase in bikers, from 9% to 60%, and walkers, from 4% to 66%. All transportation methods have seen a rise with the exception of the car users, where its percentage dropped remarkably by 23%, from 51% to 38%.
