The pie charts illustrate how people got to a particular university during 2004 and 2009.
It is clear that the proportion of going to school by car decreased, while the figures for the remaining categories had the opposite trend. In addition, cars and buses were the most significant form of transport in both years. Also, the percentage of people using the train to travel was lowest in the same 2 years.
In 2004, standing at 51%, cars accounted for over half of the total main transportation methods, with only a third taking a bus. Likewise, the remaining students rode a bike, went on foot, or took a train, with the figures being 9%, 4%, and 3% respectively.
However, in 2008, a new bus stop was built and car parking required a fee in 2006. Therefore, the number of students traveling by car dropped considerably to 28%, while the figures for buses went up remarkably to 46% in 2009. Besides, the percentage of bicycles grew slightly and accounted for 7% more than 5 years period. Train travelers and walkers were almost unchanged compared to 2004, only 1% and 2% respectively.
