In terms of exports in 2009, Country B was dominant with 4 million metric tons, but it increased by only half in the next decade. In contrast, Country A, which surpassed Country B in 2019, saw a sharp growth of 8 million metric tons, peaking at 10 million. Meanwhile, Country C, the smallest contributor, experienced a slight rise throughtout the period.
In 2019, distribution and retail made up the largest portion of the cost for a pineapple, accounting for 35%, while profit and taxes contributed 18% and 16%, respectively. International transport and import licenses were lower, comprising 12% and 10% of the cost. The smallest portions were producer and export costs, at 5% and 4%, respectively.
