Overall, it is clear to see that precipitation in Kolkata shows a great deal of fluctuation whereas temperature is slightly stable during the year. While temperature is the highest in May, rainfall is the highest in July.

Precipitation in Kolkata starts with 20mm in January which gradually increases to 100 mm in May. During the period, temperature rises from 20°C and reaches a peak of 30°C in May.

From June to September, the rainfall shoots up by 250 mm in June to hit a peak of 330mm in July which is three times more than in May. After a slight drop in August, rainfall of the city continues declining till the end of the year and reaches the bottom of 10 mm.

Between June and September, there is no significant change in the temperature of the city standing around 28°C. After that, it noticeably falls back to 20°C in December.
