The chart compares average monthly precipitation rates and celsius degrees in the city of Kolkata.
From an overall perspective, it is evident that the rainy season of Kolkata falls into mid-year period. Additionally, the city also experiences higher temperatures from June to September.
With regard to rainfall data, July witnesses the highest precipitation rates, at approximately 340 millimeters, followed by June, which experiences nearly the same amount of rain water in the city. While the precipitation rates in September and June are 300 and 250 respectively, the other months have much less rain. It is particularly noticeable that only 10 millimeters can be seen in Kolkata in December.
Looking closer to the line graph, we can see that May is the hottest month in Kolkata, at approximately 30 celsius degrees. Meanwhile, the second highest temperature (29 degrees) can be seen in both April and June. It is obvious that at the beginning and the end of the year, the city experiences significant drops in temperature, with the figures for January and December’s heat rates standing at 20 celsius degrees.
