The data covers six different sports: football, rugby, basketball, badminton, fishing, and horse riding and racing. Overall, it can be seen that for most sports, a significantly higher percentage of men prefer watching them to participating in them.
Regarding/As for spectating sports, football is the most popular kind of sports with over 40% of male participants who prefer watching it according to the graph. Basketball and horse riding and racing also attract a higher percentage of viewers. Both are around 40%. Rugby and badminton are not so popular among spectators: about or below 30%. Fishing is the least popular kind of sports for males to watch. Approximately 12.5% of male spectators watch it on a regular basis.
In terms of participation, fishing is the only activity where men choose to engage in, rather than simply watching. Basketball and rugby see around 25% and 20% participation respectively, while badminton attracts approximately 25% of males.
In summary, men in this country tend to watch sports rather than take part in them. Fishing is the only exception to this trend.
