The diagram demonstrates the construction and function of a simple water filter.
Overall, water is cleaned in a storage drum, which three layers. Water pass through each layer one by one and become clean. Then it moves to another storage drum to store and use.
Firstly, water is poured into a plastic container with plastic lid. This container has three layers including sand , charcoal and gravel in a sequance. In this vessel, water first pass through sand layer, then perculates through charcoal layer and finally move from the layer of gravel. At the last stage, water has filltered completely.
After that, filtered water reaches to another container trough a pipe. This drum stores water for later use. A tap is attached on the lower side of the second container, when tap opens it pour cleaned water in glass to drink.
