Overall, the area witnessed various transformations, the most important of which are the reduction in the size of green areas and the expansion of the museum.
According to the layout in 1957, one can access the museum through a small path branching off the main road. To the right of the entrance, there was a museum store-room, while a local history room was located on the left side. Beyond these rooms lay a national history exhibition. There were a lot of green trees surrounding the museum.
Over the next 50 years, several changes were made to the museum’s layout. The pathway leading to the entrance was removed. The car park was built to knock down the mature trees, which facilitated the space for visitors to park their cars. From the entrance, one can see a museum shop, which was demolished by the green trees. On the right side of the museum shop, a reception area was constructed to replace the local history room and a cafe was established to replace the museum storeroom, offering a place for visitors to relax and enjoy refreshments. Furthermore, the local history room was relocated to the center of the museum and it was enlarged to provide more space for exhibits and enhance the visitor experience. At the back of the local history room, there were special exhibitions and an education center being built at the expense of the garden.
